Antwoin Smith Obituary

Celebration of Life for Antwoin Tyrone Smith

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the transitioning of Antwoin Tyrone Smith, a beloved son, brother, and friend, who was affectionately known as “Axel”, left us far too soon on November 27, 2024, at the age of 27. Antwoin was a person whose warmth, kindness, and generous spirit touched everyone he met. His bright smile, infectious laughter, and gentle heart made a lasting impact on all who knew him.

Born on September 1, 1997, in West Palm Beach, Florida, Antwoin grew up in Decatur, Georgia, where he was known for his compassion, humility, and unwavering support of those around him. He had a unique ability to make others feel seen and valued, always putting the needs of others before his own. Whether through lending a helping hand, offering kind words, or simply being there for someone in their time of need, Antwoin’s presence brought comfort and light to countless lives.

A graduate of Elizabeth Andrews High School in Stone Mountain, Georgia, Antwoin was passionate about art, music and anime. He lived each day with a sense of purpose and a heart full of love, never hesitating to show gratitude for the people and experiences that shaped his life.

Antwoin is survived by his mother Melanie D Henry (née Smith), brother Anthony Ryles, brother KaVaughn Moncrieffe, sister Aaniya Smith, grandmother Barbara Smith and grandfather Lucius Smith (Lorna) grandmother Barbara Ingram (Stanley) father Darryl Ryles, brother Keyon Davis, brother Qouvai Ryles, brother Tahj Ryles, sister Amani Curry, sister Rhyon Ryles, sister Zuri Smith, bonus siblings Kristian Johnson, Mykala Merriweather and Damir Moore, special mention Savoye Thompson, along with a wide circle of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will forever remember him as a true friend, a kind soul, and a person of deep integrity.

Antwoin is preceded in transition by his baby brother Brelin Ryles, cousin Marquis Harris and aunt Lucia Smith.

Though his time with us was short, the impact of Antwoin’s life will never be forgotten. He taught us all the importance of kindness, compassion, and living fully in the present. His memory will continue to inspire and guide those who had the privilege of knowing him.

A celebration of Antwoin’s life will be held on December 7, 2024, at Raleigh Rucker Funeral Home & Chapel in Decatur, Georgia. Flowers may be sent to Raleigh Rucker Funeral Home.

Rest in power and peace, dear Antwoin. You will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
