Katherine Seaborn Obituary

Katherine Elaine Seaborn, beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on May 10, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on August 26, 1964, to Charles Seaborn and Ida Mae Seaborn, Katherine was the heart of a large, close-knit family and a cherished member of her community.

Katherine graduated from Gordon High School and went on to earn an associate’s degree in medical billing. She developed a strong appreciation for logistics and organization through her work at Love’s Distribution Center, where her dedication and attention to detail were deeply valued.

Katherine was the proud mother of three children. She is survived by her mother, Ida Mae Seaborn; her daughters, Shawnetta (Dedrick) Murphy and Martika Seaborn; and her son, Dontavius Seaborn. She also leaves behind six beloved grandchildren—Markesha Seaborn, Dedrick Murphy Jr., Dejah Murphy, Devin Murphy, Jada Miller, and London Nealey—and one precious great-grandchild, Kobe Burgess and a host of specially loved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She is also survived by her five sisters: Pamela Seaborn, Cheryl (Roderick) Westry, Valerie Seaborn, Regina (Bernard) Carter, and Angela Jackson; and two brothers: Kenneth (Shacona) Seaborn Sr. and Regional Seaborn Sr. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Seaborn, and her brother, Charles Michael Seaborn.

Her life was a beautiful testament to love, faith, and generosity. She had a heart of gold and was known for her charismatic spirit and unwavering commitment to her family. Katherine never missed an opportunity to celebrate those she loved—whether through dancing, traveling, playing spades, cooking, or simply being present. She especially loved spoiling her grandchildren, always finding ways to make them feel special, loved, and cherished.

Katherine was a true lover of soul music. The sounds of Luther Vandross, Lauryn Hill, Tamela Mann, and Rod Wave often filled her home. Music was one of her many ways of expressing joy, connection, and love for life.

She approached life with passion and purpose, always giving of herself to others. Her acts of kindness and selflessness touched countless lives. A devoted Christian, Katherine lived her life rooted in faith, and we find peace in knowing she now rests in the Kingdom of Heaven.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, joy, music, laughter, and unwavering devotion to family. Katherine will be dearly missed, lovingly remembered, and forever in our hearts.
