Leatha Barner

Leatha Burke Barner daughter of the late Leola Felton Burke departed this life on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at her residence. Affectionately called Marion/Aunt Marilyn was born in Macon County, Marshallville, Georgia.  She was educated in the Public Schools of Macon County.

At an early age she joined Saint Paul Baptist Church, Marshallville, Georgia.  After moving to Atlanta she joined Mount Patmos Baptist Church under the Leadership of Reverend Raleigh Rucker; there she served on the Ushers Ministry until her health begins to fail.

Leatha was united in Holy Matrimony to Larry Barner, this union was blessed with one daughter; and two bonus Children.

Marion lived her life to the fullness; she loved cooking and spending time with her family

She leave a legacy of love to her loving and devoted daughter, Angela Barner (Clifford Alford); three grandchildren: Maurice, Shyneece and Deontay; six great-grandchildren; two bonus children, Larry (Iris) Barner and Cynthia Fredrick; ten sisters; one brother; the Barner family; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.

Funeral Services are scheduled for Friday, February 7, 2025 12 noon at Eastlake United Methodist Church.  Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Decatur, GA
