Michael Anthony Bracy

Michael Anthony Bracy was born on October 2, 1957 in Mobile Alabama. He was the 5th child of six children born to Mary Louise (Davis) Edwards and Willie Bracy Jr. both deceased. Michael departed this life on June 11, 2025 after a 14 year battle with Multiple Sclerosis.

Michael graduated from Toulminville High School in Mobile Alabama.  He had a passion for music and was a self-taught percussionist.  He and his friends Terryl Herron and TarleeRobinson formed a band and played in the Mobile area and then headed to Atlanta Georgia.

Although music was his greatest passion he was also very creative, loved to draw, collector of various things and was a very charitable person.  His creativity and mechanical inclinations opened doors for him to achieve professional certifications in building engineering and a career of real estate service management.

Michael leaves to mourn and cherish his memory his devoted partner Karen Joseph, daughters, Chaquita M Dennis, Ida Joseph-Bracy; grandchildren Josiah and Indya; brothers John E. Darrington (Annette), Dwight Slater; sisters; Yolanda “Tesa” Weeks Dinkins, Diane Chaney, Willietta Slater, Mildred M. Welch; favorite cousin, Brenda M. Smith; and a host of other relatives, loved ones and friends.

He is preceded in death by his eldest brother Charlie “James” Darrington Jr , and eldest sister Barbara A. Irby

He shall be missed, but memories of him will always be in our hearts and minds.
